Hi, I am a new member & would like some advice on finding an ignition live that is easy to get to my after market radio without having to strip half the dash out. Thanx

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

If you have the standard Visteon radio fitted, the ignition switched supply is on pin 4 of connector A in the back of the radio. Connector A is probably white and the wire on pin 4 of it, is probably light blue. However, wiring connector and cable colours are often different to what's shown on the wiring diagram.

Hi & cheers for your reply. Pin 4 is not connected on my stilo & the only live in the radio connector is perm live (pin 7 I think) which means I have to turn the radio off but I want it to go on & off with ignition

Hi, I already thought of that the problem is the lighter socket in my stilo is in the centre consul right back near the rear seats & I would not be able to get the wire up to the radio. Thanx

Would be a whole lot easier to just buy a wiring loom with an ISO connector. For the sake of a few quid there's little or no hassle

The Stilo doesn't need a harness adapter, comes with ISO style plugs as standard but there's no switched +12V connection.

  1. Hi & thanx everyone who replied to my post. I have now sorted the problem by taking an ignition live from the electric mirror switch (its the end blue one in my vehicle) the switch is easy to flip out & its closer than the lighter socket which I couldn't get out anyway. Thanx everyone. Sid UK
