Hi all, So i have a 03 Stilo Abarth with a selespeed gearbox. Over the last month or so it has started to kangaroo randomly from cold and then disappears after about a minuet which can be very annoying (and quite embarrassing) when heading off to work. Recently also left it in gear by accident and the car would not let me turn it on for about 45mins until it clunked and slipped into Neutral and started fine (It has done this twice now) and if you leave it running in neutral from cold for around 10 mins it wont shift into gear and have to turn the car on and off.

Getting fed up I took it to a transmission specialist today (I have no Fiat/Alfa mechanics in my town) who managed to pull up 2 codes but couldn't find a translation for them both (2e00 and 1772). They also noted the selespeed pump is at a good pressure so didn't think it was that.

If anyone could help shed some light on what possibly is wrong it would be much appreciated, as it looks as if I'm going to have to drive 6 hours to the Euro specialists workshop otherwise :(

I live up in Nelson. I have a cable but its not the best do you recommend a particular one? Cheers in advance

A standard ELM327 cable will allow communication with gearbox and engine. I got one from stahlcar. $40

Later I got a cable off ebay that had the multi colour adapters that can communicate with all computers on the car but the standard cable is sufficient.

I think free version does gearbox but not engine. Worth investment for paid version though.

http://multiecuscan.net/ mentions having to modify the elm327 but I did not need to do that with cable from stahlcar. I asked them and they assured me would work with Stilo which proved to be the case.
