Quick question.

Battery is flat (I've been in hospital for a few weeks) and so rather than just charge it thought I'd put a new one on.

Reason being that in the past, even before the weather turned colder, it was turning over quite slowly and when in the garage they reported that someone had fitted a smaller one than it should have.

But having looked under the bonnet it not obvious where the battery is. Is it under that large plastic housing on the passenger side?

Before I started wielding the spanners just wanted to check that it is there and not elsewhere in the car i.e. the rear.

Cheers.

Yeah, the battery should be covered by the smaller cover [compared to the one covering the engine] there should be one screw holding the cover in place.

Yes.. it's under the large black plastic cover held on with 3 screws.

Thanks for the answers guys and I've now finished replacing the battery.

Interestingly, despite the garage saying that the old one was too small and Halfords web-site bearing this out with their recommendations for batteries for petrol and diesel engines, when I took the old battery out it had the spacer fitted in the bottom of the battery tray for a the smaller battery and the negative lead is a little tight which made refitting the battery cover difficult.

However all done and the engine burst into life. Despite the aforementioned it's obviously better having the beefier battery and it is the recommended one anyway.

Only problem I have now is that the yellow engine warning light is on - don't you just love Stilos! Any ideas?
