Hi

I have a Fiat Stilo 1.6 regular service and recent MOT

Starting yesterday morning every time I start the car after a few seconds it stalls. No warning lights on prior to yesterday.

If I rev the car the engine runs but soon died once I stop revving.

Wondering on your idea/suggestions?

Hi there i am also having this issue, but not after a few secs but after 10 mins my car just dies then getting message on lcd Aultontar fail. loose connection ASR fail, I have looked at alternator and battery, replaced HT Leads and spark plugs but still the same, last week i was driving to pick up my partner from work and it just died 3 times in the evening it was dark outside so also had my light on, it dont jump start i got to turn off and back on again to start it, when i do that my lights go off and on so god knows what people thing of me in front and behind me think, i have even replaced the battery, and the problems remain. noting with the idle speed all seems correct, is there something obeious i am missing? sorry for ranting on any help would be gr8

Sheernes, need to know what car you have, petrol, diesel and what engine. That said, does this issue occur when the car is hot only? i.e. is it fine until warmed up? if so, have the CKP sensor checked and changed. A faulting CranKshaft Position Sensor will cause bad starting, stalling and spurious errors on the dash. Its a reasonably cheap fix.

it is more we have noticed when it is cold,
say i would use the car in the morning and the temp gage has not moved much then drive off the drive it was stall, once the gage is normail which is half way if that is the normal temp no problems what so ever, i have also had a service antifreeze ect... i have only had the car for 6 or so weeks ago, so im getting to know the car so to speak but its just waiting on the drive for 10 or minutes car dies then turn on wait a few mins and same over again, only on the odd occasion the car cuts out when the car has warmed up,
i am driving from kent to south wales for xmas this year so i am hoping what ever the issue is can be found and fixed,
