I've lost the ignition code for my main blue key whilst changing the battery!
I have 2 keys fortunately for this car which i purchased last month. The first key ( which has no buttons on the fob) had the battery transplant within a matter of about 45 seconds and works fine. The main key (with 3 buttons including the boot release) took about 15 minutes with the old battery out while i searched for a lost screw, now refuses to start the car. The yellow lock symbol on the dash is on and a message;-" Car security failure" is on the electronic display. However this same key still unlocks doors and the boot without problems.

My question would be how can the key lose one code for the ignition and yet retain another for the central locking? How do i retrieve the partially lost code?
I do have the 5 digit code from Fiat.

Hi

have you checked to see if the little glass transponder is still inside the remote because this is what turns off the immob. It's not connected to the remote circuit board so regardless of how long it takes you to replace the battery it won't effect the immob side of things

Craig

Hi Craig, can't remember seeing the transponder in the case with my eyesight.but will check to see if it's lying around somewhere. If i can't find it then where would i obtain a replacement? Is there anyone in the London area who has the equipment to fix/ reprogramme/ recode Blue keys?

Thanks, Max.

i've got some Fiat equipment but unfortunately it won't fully program stilo keys. The immob transponder has a 2 part programming procedure. It needs pre-coding with info from the car before it can be programmed with the pin code.

My equipment won't do the precoding with stilo's. I t just covers Doblo, Punto & Panda at the moment. Not sure what other equipment there is out there but can find out easily enough.

Should have added that the ABS light comes on about 90 seconds after starting the engine. It is preceded by a clicking sound from the ABS pump area. Have cleaned 3 of the sensors (the 4th is new) to no avail. Can anyone tell me if there is garage/specialist/mobile specialist with MultiEcuScan or similar equipment who could diagnose this fault? London area.

Max.
