Got my Stilo this afternoon after getting front discs and pads fitted - annoyingly couldn't fit them myself - but the garage told me that the wishbone bushes were totally gubbed at one side which I probably wouldn't have picked up on myself lol well I've decided I may as well get two new wishbones with bushes so both sides are good. Seen a few on eBay at decent prices but don't know which ones would be best?? What about these:

Here's a list of all the results that come up for "Fiat Stilo wishbones":

Are any of these good? I'm a bit wary of things like this on eBay but I know that Fiat will just rob me for them. Is there a particular bush size for the 1.2 as well? Hoping someone knows best on here lol

They're a good price, my versionshowsup under compatibility and the seller appears to be confident with them. Free express delivery for this Friday I could have them fitted on Saturday, they seem easy enough to change...

The second lot do seem cheap! . I have bought from buypartsby and gsf in the past, both were fine but maybe a bit more expensive. (You would be able to get the GSF ones over the counter and in time for your weekend job.) Why replace both sides when only one has gone ?. We found, on both cars, that the offsides outlasted nearside about 2:1. If you buy just one make sure its for the correct side! Be warned that the bottom bolts tend to rust up and will likely need replacing. Not any old bolt will do -get the right quality bolt from your Fiat dealer. As for bush size I think the small one is right for both the 1.2 and the 1.4 - we had a 2002 1.2 and now have a 2004 1.4. both these took the smaller bolt/bush. (someone else can confirm this hopefully)

Front bush size depends on age of the car, not engine size. The change point from 12mm to 14mm was at vehicle number (not VIN) 495306 which was about July 2004. A 2002 Stilo will have the 12mm front and rear bushes.

Regarding aftermarket wishbones, there's been a few threads where people have fitted them and they've only lasted a short time, so replaced them with genuine ones.

Thanks a lot for the replies, I think I'll go for the ones that state they are 12mm as mines is a 2002. I hope they are genuine but they are pretty cheap! I'll order them today and hopefully have them on come Saturday, I'll take you up on replacing them bolts - I'm ordering a few at the moment so I'll quickly look them up and add them to my list to get this Friday :) Cheers

You got that right Davren.

I bought wishbones on eBay and they were more expensive then Mark intends to pay. Changed them after a few months because of excessive movement in the rear bushes due no doubt to inferior rubber.

Only really noticed it when the cruise control was in operation. It caused the car to judder when it encountered an uneven surface. It seems the wishbone was moving back and forth because the spongy rear bush was not holding it in the correct location. Changed the wishbones for units from Shop4Parts and all was tickety boo!

you appear to be busy, are you still interested in seats from modette and a swap, have a look at post and his ebay listing regards eoin
