My dashboard lights have gone completely and have been told i need a new cluster....the garage guy told me to buy one on line which i have tried to do but he told me he needs the cluster number from out of the dashboard? before he can send me one.......
Does anyone know how to do this without ruining it completely, or does anyone know where I can get one or should the on line guy just get me one for my model year...2004...petrol....the online guy said " It's only a couple of screws..." I can't see screws anywhere, and what am I looking for, IE.. what does the cluster look like....thanks all..........

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

Lower and pull the steering wheel out as far as possible, then follow the instructions below.

Once the replacement cluster has been fitted, it will need the Proxy Alignment procedure to be carried out. This can be done at a Fiat dealer or by anyone with the appropriate OBD cable and software.

If buying a second hand cluster the mileage recorded on it can only be adjusted upwards, so get one with a lower or similar mileage to your current one.

Petrol and diesel clusters are different. There's also a different cluster for the Abarth versions.

thanks for that, i'll have a go but i need to get the cluster number before i can even send for one.....i don't want to end up ballsing the whole thing up......the garage guy who said he would fit it said as long as it's a cluster for a petrol stilo it would be ok.....but now i'm thinking i don't want to buy the wrong one........
will the online parts guy not know the exact cluster with reg number, year, etc? thanks........................

You don't need a "cluster number", as long as it's from a petrol Stilo (if yours is petrol) and has lower mileage than your Stilo then it will work %100 fine once the proxy allignment procedure is done, as Davren said. Cut out this numpty in the middle asking for a number and find one from a breakers, there's plenty on wBay if you search "Stilo breaking".

Remember - it's got to be off the same fuel'd Stilo And have LOWER mileage.

Recently bought a 1.6 Active Sport for my daughter with the same problem (as well as blown heater matrix (thanks to the site for the Elearn to help in stripping the dash out), though that is sorted now.
The instruments are still a problem however.
Following advice given in threads on here, I bought a replacement set from another 1.6 petrol 3 door with lower miles, however when I came to pop it in, got exactly the same totally blank dash!
With all the guages as well as all the warning lights blank with either instrument set I am suspecting the fault lies with the body computer.
I've checked (and cleaned) all earth paths through C15 and checked power to both fuses F37 and F53 (as well as every other blinking fuse) and cable continuity from computer to instruments.
It seems the multiecuscan.net site has been taken down so I've not been able to obtain the OBDII software to do anything else.
Without the proxy alignment procedure would I expect totally blank clocks?
Assistance from anyone that has changed their clocks would be very much appreciated.
