Just need some confirmation as to whether fiat fiat non turbo diesel engines in the stilo at all?

I've just bought a '04 Stilo JTD, but the dealer i bought it from reckons its a non turbo? I presumed that the td in jtd stood for turbo diesel? I get a nice kick at around 2.5k revs, so i'm pretty convinced its a turbo

It is a bit sluggish, although i think it could do with a thorough clean out ie egr, map sensor etc

Cheers

all turbos... he doesnt know what he is on about... the turbo is probably dead and he is covering it up....... its at the top of the exhaust mani... have a look for yourself for a snail shape

Cheers for the confirmation :)

Havn't even looked under the bonnet yet lol

btw my JTD 1.9 Stilo, the turbo kicks in at about 1700rpm. So if you are getting a kick at 2500rpm then
What HP you got in there?

Around 2k revs is about right for the turbo to kick in. Mine comes in at about 2100. A remap, other mods or just the general health of the car may effect how well you feel it kick in. I'll wait for one of the fiat geniuses to come on here and tell us exactly how its mapped in and precisely when it spools up ;)

Blank your EGR valve off, that's what i did, made a world of difference and will make even more of a difference in a clogged up one. You can buy the blanking plates here:

Also, seeing as you just bought the car check the last time it had a cambelt change. After that important stuff is out of the way i suggest giving it a little service and clean out. I prefer 0w40 fully synthetic mobil1 oil designed for turbo diesels, makes the car run much better. But make sure you flush it beforehand either by using pure diesel in the engine for about 5 mins or just add some seafoam to the old oil. Give the injectors a clean with a good injector cleaner or seafoam (my favorite).

Then your car will drive like new!

Enjoy your car
