I've got an engine fault light after driving through a seawater flood. Car is running fine, but would like to know what the fault being reported is, so I can try to clear it.

Cheers...
But I don;t have a windows laptop, all linux, so I'd have to borrow one...
Is the software downloadable? Can I reset the service indicator with it, and can engine fault messages be cleared with it?

Do you have unbuntu? If so you can emulate windows xp on a linux machine... then just install the VAGCOM drivers, and download the free version of FiatECUScan. I am unsure if it resets the service light but it will clear "clearable" error codes. Some will come back if they are deemed to important to clear.

If you get virtualbox for linux (or possibly VMware), then emulate XP that should work. Not recommending torrent sites but might be a good place to look.
