These are my custom rear lights which took a lot of effort to do, it is quite hard to take a picture of them to get the true beauty of them, but i did my best :) i managed to break one in the process of making them so it took 3 lights in total to make these, i've been working on these for a while, when the first light broke i gave up a while ago, but the other day i felt the urge to go for a round 2 and it was a success, i have also took the top row reflector off, think it looks better in my opinion, plus they wouldn't be custom if i didn't customize them ;) it took in total of about 15 hours, about 3 hours in the morning, then 8pm to 8am, i said to myself i'm not going to bed until they're complete, when i finished i was relieved, tired and in love with them haha :D and as far as i'm aware, they are the only ones in the UK :D

And what do you mean "custom rear lights"?

Basically i opened up the casing to the light ( a lot easier said than done ) and took out the middle red section, the indicator and reverse light section and reflectors and sprayed all the insides black, all the inside sections are plastic welded to the back section of the light ( quite hard to explain lol ) this is a photo of everything opened up, what is left of the light itself is what i sprayed black

My exhaust is from powerflow in stafford, cost £280 altogether, phil build's it to exactly what you want, you can tell him the sort of sound your after, how you want the tips to be, the angle of the tips, everything, i know most places do that but phil is amazing at what he does, his work is to such a good quality, i tell anyone to go there when they ask about exhausts :) hope this helps

Thanks, nah i used grey plastic primer and satin black, i used a whole 500ml can which covered both lights, i did flash coats all the way through until it had good coverage, and i don't know if you've ever seen my old lights, they were tinted on the outside of the perspex with tinting spray then lacquered, but they were illegal and failed the mot due to less than 50% light shining through and less than 50% reflective on the reflectors, but with my new ones you can see clearly in the day, i was a bit nervous at first about spraying all of the back part, i was going to leave the bits behind the red and clear plastics silver but it wasn't the effect i was going for so i bit the bullet and sprayed the whole lot, but yes they give off light just as well as the stock ones as far as i can see, well, either way i'm happy 'cus they are legal, will pas an MOT and better than my old lights :D

is this the right place m8?

all sorts of EPIC WIN!!!

gorgeous front bumper (altho personally i dont like the side vents)
nice de-badging
wheels set it off nicely
and i cant even begin to say how those rear lights make me feel!

A nice look. But presumably spraying the reflectors black massively reduces the light output?

I think your next project should be some side skirts to balance the deep front spoiler...

Yes thats the right place (y)

how did you split them in the end?
im glad someone has done this finally iv been thinking about it for a while because i hate the rear lights on my car.
sounds and looks like you did a top job on them (Y)

Splitting them was the most time consuming thing, and most annoying too! i just got an array of prying tools like screwdrivers and what not, popped the clusters in the oven, then took them out and started wedging the tools down the edges where the perspex meets the plastic, then pop it back in the oven, and just keep doing that over and over until they are fully apart, from what i've heard most light clusters are caulked together from the factory, whereas these clusters seem to be plastic welded together, which make the process much much harder and more of a chore.

looks really nice iv gt the same front bumper on mine how are you finding high speed bumps and as i found out slopes out of car parks . really like the wheels what are they?

Due to my 40mm springs not lowering the front by 40mm bumps and ramps aren't bad at all, but i am getting some eibach ones which will lower the front, i've been told that because the Stilo's naturally are nose down, some spring companies will make their springs to lower the rear, and then bring the front to sit level, rather than lower it the same as the rear. But yeah, i'm finding the bumper okay for now, the only thing that annoys me is when you're at a junction behind a woman, and as she's looking to see if its clear to go, and for no apparent reason knocks it into reverse and drives into me  the damage isn't noticeable unless you look really close and know it's there though  oh and the wheels are 19" Boss XTS :p

Ahhh nah i used proper tinting spray on the reflectors, only 2 coats, just to take away the vibrance of the red, because the red middle section now has black behind it, the red has changed to a darker shade, so i just tinted the reflectors to colour match :) they still reflect no problem :)
And at the minute i'm only doing mods that are transferable to another Stilo, because i'm planning on getting an abarth, so i don't really want to be spending money on stuff that i can't swap over if i do end up getting the abarth :) And when i say swap stuff i mean pretty much everything, including the front bumper, and get it resprayed, plus the abarth will already have the side skirts and a spoiler :D

And i'm glad these lights are getting some positive feedback, thanks :p
