new to this so any help appreciated!!

car had been driving fine, this morning temperature gauge shot up and hit the red. pulled over into a petrol station and put 2 litres of water in. continued driving (use my car for work) for the rest of the day and the temperature gauge was between half way and 3/4. however sometimes while driving it sounded like water rushing through the bonnet? when the engone was turned on the fan kicked in almost immediately before even driving off and once turning the engine off it made a gurgling/bubbling noise for a minute or so.

once home my brother had a look, coolant was empty. poured through more water and eventually it seemed to stay in the min and max lines. (engine off). however once engine was turned on the water level slowly decreased and we found a leak under the bonnet, seemingly coming from where there are some belts front leftish looking at the car head on (as you can see i dont know much!!)

any ideas what this could be? water pump? *price to be fixed? am i right in saying water pump isnt connected to the cambelt on a fiat 1.6??

any help please???

Hi,
Thermostat replaces this weekend, rubberring from thermostatpart was jammed. Thermostatpart also jammed when I moved it with screwdriver.
Temp is going up 2 seconds and back again after replacement. What could be the problem?
Does the water go in to heater in the car? Stilo 1,6v dyn. Air bubble...?

Tempsensor also replaced.
