Hey guys.. This is my first post on here though I've been a member for a while.. found the site really helpful but now I've got a small issue that I can't find a guide for.

I'm planning on installing interior footwell lights in the driver and passenger side footwells. Ideally I'd like them to come on when the interior lights are on so I was planning on linking them to the interior light fuse (F39 I believe) but this also controls the stereo so the surely the lights would be on constantly? Are there any other fuses you can recommend linking into that would activate the lights when the doors are open? Or can you sugggest a way of linking into F39 with some sort of timer that would activate them for 20 seconds or so once the door has been opened?

Thanks,

Alan

Yeah, I thought as much.. Only thing is.. What wire would I link into?.. If you remove the light cluster there is a 6 or 8 pin adapter that supplies the power.. which one of the 6 (or 8) wires would I need to tap into?

You'll need to tap into the power signal feed from the body computer as switches on console will send a signal to body clock that then send another signal back to the lights I'd imagine (y)

So, Basically, Simple wiring?.. There will be a live and neutral to the light with a switch live and its the switch live i need to tap into?

Any chance anyone knows which colour wire the switch live is?

Here is the installed wiring for the puddle light, if that's what you are after.

See the white plug at the right. It is a bit tucked up, but should rest at the lower right corner.

Ahh, That could be why I can't find a fuse for the puddle lights?

That's one thing i certainly don't wanna do.

Well, Basically i can't figure out which one of the wires I need to tap into in the light feed. So i'd be looking at wiring a live from somewhere to a switch then taking the footwell lights from the switch.

Any suggestions for a good live to take? lol

Hi all,
I have purchased these interior lights off ebay and I was going to fit them in today.
Problem is I do not know how to fit them.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260810136547&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

They come with a black connection box to connect two tubes and a on/off switch.
The other part of the wiring is the red and black to connect to the "battery" or fuse box (as it says on the guide).

I do not want to run a wire from the battery as the wiring supplied is very short. And I want to connect it to the fusebox but which fuse do I need to connect it to, how?

I want the lights to be on when I flick the switch and not turn off until I switch the engine off or the switch

Any help would be very appreciated.

ok,
I fitted the passenger footwell thru the bottom part of the centre console, and fed the cable thru to the drivers side, where the other neon is fitted to where it needs to be.

I have also taken out F44 (cig lighter) and fed the positive wire (Yellow) (sorry about my other post it was not red) and put the fuse back on top.

I have a black wire that needs to be added to the chasis or to an exsisting earth.

I do not know how to fit it on to the chasis. There is nothing I can attach it to.
Is there something in the fusebox I can attach it to?

This is the last step and I am stumpped.

Hi all,

I don't want to hijack the thread, but if you want more have a look on ebuyer for 12" cold cathodes, they're a fraction of the price you paid (y) I used them on my last Stilo and they lit the boot and ICE install a treat.

Hi guys,
I had the lights fitted in professionally.
