Re: stilo schumacher

Punto52,

I am waiting for a Stilo 3dr jtd which should arrive in 8 week approx. Before I purchased this car I also asked about the Stilo schumacher, I believe it's coming out sometime next year, but looks like it's gonna be a limited edition only.

Good luck in finding one

Stan

Red face Korang..........................

your statement don't make any sense!

What I was saying is, the factory fit skirts that they put on the Abarth and the Sport are not as nice as the FIAT aftermarket Abarth branded skirts, you'll see this yourself when you meet a Stilo with the aftermarkets on!

And just out of interest, why have they put the aftermarket Abarth skirts on a Special Edition ??? I know, cause they are correct after being up your arse!

Re: stilo schumacher

It dont look that different from any other stilo; if you want ya can buy the wheels, splitter, skirts, etc... from your fiat dealer!

I also see one identical to that on the forcourt of my dealer the other day, only difference was it were a 1.4 and maroon.

Whats the price on this thing then?

TC if they were the correct abarth skirts then they would be on the original/genuine Abarths, so u see my statement does make sense..to me they look SH*T...
We are all entitled to our opinions and I HAVE seen/met a Stilo with the aftermarkets on..and I personally don't like them as much as the originals.

.the differences are just the fact that the aftermarkets are about 1-2 inches deeper on the big ugly side bit, so to me, it makes em look way too square and bulky, instead of slim and sexy like the REAL ones Bigger does not mean better... im suprised you didn't know that yet.
Plus the real ones don't come with stickers for the kids because the real Abarths a grownups car ...

Re: Korang..........................

Personally i think the ugly great badly fitting lumps of plastic are a waste of time, they don't help aerodynamics, they make the car heavier, they don't look that good, oh and they are a rust trap!

Re: stilo schumacher

Yeah... after a few cleans on my car I can see what you mean with the possible future rust problem...may pay to fill the gap with some silicone or something...
I think with the aerodynamics though they do actualy help...I was hosing the car down earlier today with a strong jet and the spray was being pushed along the skirt and out and away from the back wheel arches .. if the skirt wasn't there and that was the airflow it would have gone into the arch..instead the air will hold the car down at high speed and push away from the car at the back..

You can buy a silicone sealent to fill the cap! When i fitted my aftermarket skirts to my punto; i had the same problem of a slight gap! I got a silicone sealent from a shop near me called 'Brown Brothers', they sorted me out with a sealent that was colour coded/matched the colour of the car so that it didnt stand! Which was metalic silver; i was delighted with the sealent didnt fade or move! And it did the job!!

Wink Well.............................

we all have our own views, and it's all about personal taste, in my opinion the original factory fit skirts are unpronounced and very boring, remember the Stilo is a fat ass car and with the aftermarkets on the bulk is consistent all the way down, that's why they've put them on and reserved them for a Special Edition and you Abarth drivers know it!

Kids ??? At a guess I'd say I was older than you Korang!

Also, this rust trap, where do you mean as I cannot see any gaps or anywhere where rust would form on or around my skirts ???

Let's see exactly how impartial and unbiased you are Korang.....

Rear Roof Spoiler...................Factory fit or Aftermarket Abarth ???

Exhaust...............................Factory fit or Aftermarket ???

Suspension and Springs..........Factory fit or Aftermarket ???

If the Abarth is so perfect, why aren't these things on them already ???

You wouldn't buy an R-Type and need to change the spoilers, suspension, exhaust, etc would you ??? Do you get my drift ??? It's not critisism, it's just personal taste, you personalise your car for your own eye, but with the Abarth being top of the range and FIATs flagship, I'd expect all the bits on it as standard!

Re: stilo schumacher

Well i'll second guess you and say im older than you Tincanns..
Before we go any further... I love the Stilo and your car is IMO a really nice example and obviously you must be pleased with it... You chose all the stuff to go on it so it must be to your taste.. and when im finished with mine it will be to my taste..

Rear Roof Spoiler...................Factory fit or Aftermarket Abarth ???Has to be Factory fit or novitec as the aftermarket one is rounded in shape and contrasts the so called bulk and is too similar to the 5door you sooooo hate..

Exhaust...............................Factory fit or Aftermarket ??? Aftermarket...thats why im getting a supersprint exhaust

Suspension and Springs..........Factory fit or Aftermarket ??? I am getting the lowering springs done for my short ass kids.....

OK my Questions to you TC...

1 : If you had the Abarth you so clearly want, would you change the skirts that are on there, because I think you would like them the way they are and would want to keep the car as close as you can to its original status on the items that really aren't much of a difference..

2 : Abarth or Wannabe...which would you choose ?

You wouldn't buy an R-Type and need to change the spoilers, suspension, exhaust, etc would you ??? Do you get my drift ??? It's not critisism, it's just personal taste, you personalise your car for your own eye, but with the Abarth being top of the range and FIATs flagship, I'd expect all the bits on it as standard
I dont NEED to change any of these things..I just want to...as its personal taste which you like to emphasise....Im sure you must agree, everyone has their own taste and Fiat can't release a car thats gonna fit everyones needs in every way..I honestly would keep the car the way it is, no problems at all...but I have money burning a hole in my pocket at the moment and the only thing I want to spend it on is my pride and joy....so why not improve perfection if you can..

Talking Korang...............................

just to correct you, Abarth or Wannabe ??? Nope, personalised to my own taste.

I drove Froggies and Stus Abarths, one a 5 door and one a three door and this is my opinion, (no offense intended to the guys or their cars) but the Abarths are not in any way special, the selespeed is awful and I'd opt for the manual box, the power wasn't astounding, even on Stus remapped Abarth, neither handled very well, the five door was particularly bad and if I was to buy another Stilo it would be the diesel model, I've driven one and was very impressed, although again, I would personalise the car cosmetically. Of the Abarths I've driven niether were fun or inspiring, my manual 1.6 gives me more smiles per mile, ask Stu if you don't believe me!

And by the way, you're an old fart!
