The flashing LED on my drivers door has stopped working when i lock my car. There are no warnings or lights to indicate that there is a problem. Has anyone got any ideas. Car has just come back from body shop due to minor damage to front wing, could they have turn alarm off? if so, how do i get it back on. Or is it as simple as a blown LED?

Most probably the LED has died.
Btw. The flashing LED doesn't mean that your car has an alarm

There's strong causation here as it's very rare for the led to fail. Do you know if they did anything with the door :chin:

Possibly caused by heat I suppose.

I know the LED does not necessary mean its got an alarm but the local chav's don't know that, so for me it is just a visual diterrant. They sould have not touched the door as it was just the front wing they were working on.

This has been the first symptom of weak battery for my Stilo. Every time (happens every winter) the led has NOT stopped blinking after I have started driving, failures have occured. Or not started to blink after locking. Loose connection. Low oil pressure etc. I have a bit too low Ah battery for the cold climate in Norway, and the Stilo is very sensitive to voltage ratings during initial startup. A recharge has cured it. So everytime the "alarm" led has gone bananas I've recharged the battery - and voila. :D

My LED likes to flash randomly. It sometimes stays constantly on when I activate the deadlocks, most of the time it functions normally and does the flash.

However, it also sometimes flashes when the doors are unlocked and I'm driving. I guess it's just another one of those brilliant Italian electrical eccentricites :D

Oh and I replaced the battery for a higher capacity not that long ago and this is the ONLY electrical issue which has decided to continue. Doesn't really annoy me much though.

My LED flashes only when the door is locked for 99% of the time - there has been the odd occassion when it has decided to flash when travelling. If the car is stopped and restarted this cures the problem.
There has also been an occasion when the LED has stopped flashing when the car has been locked!
Strange!

Anyway the LED is mounted to a tiny circuit board with a resistor on it - its highly likely that one of the joints has become loose or dry - take it out for a look.

I damaged this component when I removed my door card and yanked the LED out not realising. Just needed to resolder one of the legs back to the board.

I've recently done this annoyingly, for those of us who aren't too hot with a soldering iron, can you buy a replacement from anywhere? I've found one on EBay, but it's for a left hand drive, any advice on this would be fab! Cheers!
