74 Spider carb question???? and drive shaft question

i just bought a 74 spider and it will really only idle when i have the choke on. I looked around and noticed that one of the carb barrels was sucking in air like normal but the other barrel was blowing out, im trying to figure out why, i believe this may solve my problem but i dont know.

And another question i had was when i got the car i got down under the car and grabbed and shook the driveshaft and it had a little play where the drive shaft meets the rear diff, is there something i can replace there to make it tighter or what.

sounds like you may want to look at the rear universal joint and see if thats where the play is coming from, replacing that could remedy your problem. as for your carb problems im not entirely sure what could cause that. I'm in the process of re-installing my drivetrain into my 80 spider 2000, so I've got a few issuees of my own Im resolving . You could also always try calling International Auto Parts (I dont have the phone number handy but the site is www.international-auto.com) they may be able to help you out as they have helped me a few times.
