Hi there and Happy New year to you all. I've managed to locate the fuel cut off solenoid and I am led to believe that it is situated behind the flat code control unit (ccu) at rear and below pump. Hope you get the image, as I struggled to upload it (still getting to grips with things!) I've put it on my avatar aswell, but this does not enlarge.
Apparently if you break open the ccu access can be gained to the solenoid. The live wire off the 3 pin plug to the ccu is soldered direct to the new solenoid whilst the other two are taped up. The large plug on the code box next to steering column under dashboard is now disconnected. Thus van stops and starts but no immo, which I'm not bothered about.
All this sounds like a doddle but the ccu is in a virtually inaccessible position, being partially covered by an engine mount (I think Fiat built the vehicle around it!)
Has anyone done this mod? I've been quoted £250-300. Can't, won't pay this so I've got to do it on my own. Is there a step by step on it on the forum that I've missed? Any help greatly appreciated.
Ciao
