My daughters 2001 1.2 8V Punto had the light come on.
I read various threads on here that gave various tips of what did and didn't work.
This is what worked for me. Downloaded the free version of the fiatecuscan software http://www.fiatecuscan.net/. Used this interface connector http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_VAGUSB.html with the red adaptor cable from this set http://www.gendan.co.uk/product_FESCBL.html.
Identified the fault to the passenger airbag isolation switch and was then able to clear the fault to turn off the light.
Great sevice and help from http://www.gendan.co.uk/index.php
I hope this helps others along the way.

Yes fixed it, loose connection. The light will just come back on if you don't fix the fault.
The fix is always the easy bit, finding the fault is the tricky part.

Whats with the modified loom? The loose wire was clear to see pulled out of the connector. Is it not good to fix?

So whats the modified loom?

I think it was down to a phone lead stuffed in the glove box got wrapped around it and pulled.

Why do folks refuse to search the forum?

There is masses on this subject. Use Google "Punto airbag fault " or the forum search.
Do people expect to be spoon fed? :(

I know Thinking about it is new here, but internet searching is not rocket science.

The concern is connectors that dont reliably stay connected. They wouldnt be much good if they fell off in a crash milliseconds before the bags should go off.
