Hi

We have a problem on a 06 plate punto diesel.

When we stop the car it runs on for about 10 seconds then when we want to restart it the engine wont turn over. Fiat have had it with the error codes and cant sort it. I know that disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it (resetting the computer) then it starts as normal.

has anyone any ideas?

Check for water in the fusebox in the engine bay, also, has anyone sprayed WD40 into the ignition switch recently?

The first two times the weather was either raining or very wet roads but this time it went today where the weather in Stoke on trent has been very good for the last two weeks but a bit of rain on sunday so I'll check the fuse box, that seems a good idea. I have never sprayed WD40 into the locks. The car opens OK with the remote so no need to have done that.

Just going outside to check fuse box.

No water in the fuse box at all. Number 52 fuse is missing and a sort of wire bridge looks like it was in place but is cut through. could this be the problem?
