Hope some-one can help.........the car is a 58 plate Panda 1100 Active. The main beam is good but the dipped headlights are appallingly weak and lack the brightness required. Now that the clocks have also turned back and the dark afternoons/evenings are here I need to address this.

Any ideas, or has anyone upgraded their bulbs........although I cannot believe the dipped lights were like this when the car was new. Standard H4 60/55's fitted.

Not a great deal you can do really, I've put Osram Nightbreakers in and they're a bit better but I think it just makes the light whiter than actually brighter. The Panda's lights are a bit like tea lights, it's particularly noticeable after I've been in someone's car with proper manufacturer’s HID lights installed.

I think that's just how H4's are. Compared to the non-halogen duplo's we had when I was young they are a huge improvement.
However compared to H7's or Xenons (H.I.D.'s on your side of the channel) they are like acandle in the wind;)

Thanks. Does anyone know the difference between Nightbreaker PLUS and Nightbreaker UNLIMITED?

I've Nightbreaker Unlimited bulbs in mine. They make a difference - but I couldn't say it was huge and it's more on full beam than on dipped.

Now that's strange. My lights, both dipped and main, we're average on a 2009 Panda. I fitted night breakers and they were transformed. Both beams excellent.
I have a late model Merc for comparison, and the Panda's are equally as effective.

It must vary car by car?

I'm going to fit Osram Nightbreaker Unlimiteds and see if they are better. It's the dip that is really poor.
