All,

Looking for some feedback on this, my 2007 4x4 1.2 is now 6 years old and covered 37,000 miles. I should really be looking at replacing the timing belt now as it is overdue on age.

What would be the average cost from the dealer and including a new water pump at the same time, been quoted £330 inc VAT which seems steep considering spurious parts only cost about £45.00 for belt and pump. Appreciate there is a reasonable amount of work to do and i did consider having a go but time and need to keep the car on the road means i really need it at the garage.

Will be looking at my local garage for costs too.

Any pointers welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Charlie,

Many thanks for the feedback, thats the price range i am getting from independents,

Cheers

£45, I've not checked recently but would have said nearer £70ish for pump and full belt kit (not just the belt).

But like you say £330 is well over. I'd shop about (y)

When I had my 1.2 8v belt and pump changed it came to around £160 for genuine parts and the labour. Its not massively difficult job anyway. Next time i'll be having ago myself!
