Does anyone know how the above can be done?
I want to change all the cooling fluid but I can't find out if there is a draining plug somewhere.

AFAIK there is no drain plug (n) so normally this would involve removing the bottom hose.

However, looking at the position of the expansion tank, it looks like it might be possible to feed a suitable piece of tubing down to approximately the same position, in which case pumping/syphoning the old coolant out might be an easier & less messy alternative.

Obviously if there's a noticeable amount of crud in the system, you'll need to remove the hoses & backflush it properly, but for a routine coolant change, I think the syphon method just might work.

I have an LPG system installed on this car, so I was wondering if I could have the same results by unplugging one of the hoses of the valve. Don't exactly know how do you call it, I mean the valve that is heated by the cooling fluid through which the LPG passes, before reaching the jets.

as MEP said the bottom clip needs to be released and the hose wiggled and pulled off...

its not a normal jublee clip or a click r type but moulded into the hose fitting which snaps onto the bottom of the radiator.....

a squirt of lubricating oil round the clips and end of the assembly where it goes onto the radiator spigot helps....

if you look closely you will see two sides of the clip (metal strip) this needs nipping together (squeeze) to release then wiggle and pull....

in practice it can be bloody stiff on my mates panda i used water pump pliers

to nip whilst pulling and wiggling with the other hand coupled with lube it soon let go (y)

You don't touch the jubilee clip!!!

You simply disconnect the quick release coupling (y)

I usually manage to undo and refit all the Fuel / coolant hose clips ( hook-over St. Steel type),
but I couldn't see how the lower coolant clip was supposed to come apart..??,

or are you saying that the plastic elbow / stub on the rad is a push / twist fit? , leaving the hose attatched to the stub..??,

Charlie

Still away from home? ;)

Sorry, laptops off for repair, new iMac comes tomorrow, as soon as I've worked out how to turn it on I'll upload the pics (they're currently externally hosted)

This might help - you need to click on the links on the right hand side for photographs,

A Jubilee clip is also known as a worm drive clip, and even a Terry clip. Google is your friend, perhaps you might try a search?

Punto is different setup to the Panda, you don't need to be removing or touching jubilee clips like I've previously said with the Panda (y)

I'm sorry to bring up this topic again, but I'm having serious trouble to change the coolant!

First question: Is the radiator flush point a white plasitc "screw" on the top left second radiator?

Second question: having two similar radiators, one in front of the other, how is it possible that only one radiator has a flush point (the inner one)? Won't I end up with an air lock on the other one? I forget to check if they are connected at the ends...

Last question: did you lift the car to do this job? I'm finding it impossible to access the site from above, as the engine bay if full tubes and hoses!!! I cannot manage to get the quick release loose, let alone removing the lower hose!

How I miss the Rover's K-Series cooling system, changing the coolant was the easiest task in the world...

Sorry, I meant bleed point!
Well, it means I should be able to do the job myself, as I have no elevator. Tomorrow I will try again, I just hope I manage to undo the hose...
Thanks!

Just now I realized that it's been more than 2 months, since you replied!
First of all thanks for the reply.
Second, can you tell me where exactly these connections are?
The way I understand it, according to your last attachment, the connection is at the bottom left (as we see the car from the front), of the radiator.
Correct?

Correctamondo :)

The pic's are from a Stilo, but the Panda's is in the same location, with the same quick release couplings (y)
