Hi Everyone

I'm new to the forum so thought say hello. Just bought my first Panda the other week a Red 1990 Panda Dance 903.

I bought it off a 81 gentleman in Leeds solid underneath no welding and free of rust drives Ok but needs a lot of work cosmetically and a few Niggly Jobs doing.

My main issue is the driver passenger seat is that it wont stay upright and keeps flopping back. I Have looked at the mechanism and can see that just up front spring are like a set of teeth that presumably a piece of metal slots in to hold seat us as per the Drivers seat which is fine.

It seems this piece of metal which slots into the teeth from what i can gather has Sheard off.

Is there any way i can fix the seat to make the seat stay upright or is it a new seat job?

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Spencer.

Welcome hope you use the forum to the utmost usually the river hinge fails this can be fixed by te riveting or if complete fail set a desired angle drill through And bolt up use the passenger side for accses. As it's safer anyway !
Good luck
Steve

Hi Steve and Easterley Pandas

Thanks for the response its appreciated I will take a look on the weekend see if I can secure it think bolt idea be best.

It's on a list of jobs I need ha ha!

Have to get the wipers working again they don't seem to be working off the fuse.
Fix the Window Winder.
Paint wheels and door bottoms.

I'm in Blackpool on the coast.

Thanks

Spencer

Wiper fuse is a 20amp one marked "servizi" on the under hammock fuse box. If it's a not that then remove, clean, and copper grease the drivers side "hedgehog" (just in front of the battery on the inner wing) swap the drivers side and passenger side seats over till you get it sorted, they are interchangeable in the hammock style seating cars :)

Tho tilt mechanism won't be at the Door sides anymore, small price to pay though. I changed mine round, the passenger seat is more padded and comfy

Hi Everyone

Thanks for the replys. Decent weather here yesterday so did bit of work on the Panda.

Wipers work fiddled with the hedgehog few wires hey Presto!

Fixed window winder as well. Did some more polishing cleaning also.

Seat job going to be a bolt up job presume this be ok for the MOT not considered this?

Need to fix one of the door locks also try get out to do that.

Also anyone recommend what type of oil? It's bit low I have 5w 30 outside only can I top up little with this or is it a no no?

Runs ok can be little start to slow use choke. It was stood up before I bought just drove it back and it's in my yard.

Thanks again

Spencer.
