Hi,
I'm Sriram. I have Palio 1.2 which has a strange problem that even the mechanics at TVS can't able to identify what exactly the fault is.. Actually my car gets overheated and it touches the red mark within 5 Kms of drive and the coolant water is also boiling, But the Slow speed fan and the High speed fan is working fine. Recently changed the Thermostat also. Recently AC was not working well(only hot air was blowing out) I got it serviced from the garage as they replaced the AC switch with new one. After this the overheating problem started. Could any one please help??

Thanks! Peter for the Info. Will check and see. One more query I wanted to ask is that when I'm driving in AC pickup is not there. When I accelerate the pedal there isn't immediate rise.. gradually the speed increases. What could be the problem?

Thanks and I think it would have not have been cleaned so far. I will do it and see. As u mentioned the fins to be replaced for my previous thread. When I spoke to the mechanic he is not able to understand, so can u pls tell me where it will be located or can u send any image of it?

i had the same problem. the new thermostat got stug and had to replace it again. also make sure that all the air is out of the system after replacing it because it can make an airlock witch also wil make the car overheat.

Hi, i experienced serious overheating problems. Car is 100% now. So my problem started with coolant water loss, the waterpump has a steel pipe in it behind the exhaust manifold that was leaking. Removed it and saw alot of rust (due to lack of antifreeze). Replaced the O-ring and cleaned the rust. One problem solved and then the next appeared, water pressure blew the welsh plug on the pulley side (plug had rusted right trough due to lack of anti freeze) replaced the plug and overheating still occures. Now another problem, water pressure is insane only leaving one probable cause, head gasket is blown. Got a new gasket kit (head gasket, manifold gaskets ect), service kit, thermostat and head bolts. +- R2000 for all the parts. Removed the head, took it to work, put it on cnc machine and checked the head is a bit warped from all the overheating. I removed 0.35mm for a even finish. Reassembled the car and problem solved. This was my first go to stripping a car and fixing it myself. Hope it will help you fix the italian stallion.
