I've been a Fiat fan for years and drove my little Uno for 10 years! I decided in 2006 to upgrade to the Palio Go 1.2 model.
And that is where my problems started. Since then Fiat has replaced the master break cylinder and a brand new gearbox.
Last year in October my car all of a sudden overheated (way into the red). I always check the water on my Palio, because i had this type of problem with my Uno (close to the end of its life)
I got the car towed in to a service centre and was told that the gasket has blown the head (now keep in mind i don't know allot, ok nothing about cars)
After a long wait (and mega costs) i got my car back on the 2nd of December.
What was fixed
Replaced Battery, Replaced Water Pump, Replaced Thermostat, Replaced Headset, Replaced Cambelt, Replaced Tensioner, Replaced Roller, Replaced Crankseal, Engineering, Engine Flush, Riadiator Flush, Service Kit
Only to find that the car was still overheating. Took the car back on the 18th of December and i was told that the original machanic did not push out a button on the thermostat, and it is fixed now.
On Monday (5th Jan) my car started overheating again. The temp stays low as long as i'm driving, as soon as i get in bumper to bumper traffic the temp rises over halfway on to three quaters of the way. Now i do 2 hours of heavy traffic in the morning and 2 hours of heavy traffic in the evening.
Is this normal? What should i look out for when collecting my car from the service centre today?
Should i start looking for another car?
Feedback will be much appreciated!!
