Grande Punto Buying advice

Hi,

I'm new to the Forum and am about to get my daughter her first car, she knows what she wants and we're looking at the car this weekend.

It's a '08 plate 1.4 8v GP 3 door and I'm after any advice or tips that I should look out for when we go and see it. I restore classic cars as a hobby and have an idea what to check but any specifics would be great.

Hi, and welcome,

look at the GP section , for the FAQ's , and do a have a look for the GUIDES too,

it's an 8 year old car so quite a few of the issues will have arisen,

I'd take a good look at front suspension and all wiring / electrical function.

you've saved yourself from rear doors and windows..

Hi Charlie,

Is there an issue with rear doors? The reason I asked is we looked at one last week and couldn't open the rear doors from outside. The dealer said the child locks must be on, they really will say anything to try and get a sale..!

the window winder mech's are not well lubricated..so can seize,
the rear and front handles are a bit plasticky..,and CAN break / fail..

I believe there have been issues with the locks also,
