hi guys n girls got a problem with my passenger window on my scudo 20 jdt it's dead as a dodo all the fuses seam ok
Any no about the relays and were to find them ? Switches and wires look ok at connector blocks can any one help please cheers ?

Is it just the passenger window that is not working, the driver's side is fine? What year is the Scudo, is it a van or a people carrier?

Hi yea it's a 2004 20.jtd van
Drivers side is working well ?

The relay is okay as the drivers window wouldn't work if it was faulty. I'd do a continuity test on the up/down switch & try swap the connector block off the passenger widow & see if it works on the driver's side button. If no difference, you'll probably have to pull the door card/panel off.
When you've done this, check the window regulator for any snapped cables or anything which looks outta place.
Look at the loom & connector block going to the motor, check for any frayed or burnt wiring. Make sure there's 12volts going to it when you use the up/down switch.
If there's power going to the motor but it's not making any noise, then it's most likely the problem.

Before ripping it apart is there an outside chance window is seized by dried coffee/coke? Or even jammed in side runners?

Many thanks for the info I will try and test these things over the weekend , cheers once again and here's hoping will let you no ???

[putting a gloved hand either side of the window glass and trying to guide the glass downwards - as an assistant powers the switch MAY just get it moving)

BUT don't move it right down into door .. just down + back up a few inches / CM's

until you're confident it going to return to the top o.k.,;)

Hi guys many thanks for your replies try to move window manually with someone flicking the switch but no go trying to check door runners now ,but noticed that motor was hot after trying it manually so I think electrics must be ok
What do you think may be the motor has seized ?

Possibly or else there's something stopping the motor from winding up & down the window therefore putting a strain on it. Can you take the motor out, connect the electrics up to it & get it to spin using the electric window button? If it does spin, then you know it's the cable or rails which are the problem.

If Motor tests OK then there is a small black plastic lug attached to the top of the glass that keeps the glass in the rear runner...sometimes this dislocates and can either seize the whole caboodle or allow the glass to drop forward and jam anyway.

Hi guys thanks once again for your replies I did have the motor out today but didn't test it while it was out ,while the motor was disconnected I was able to slide the window up and down freely once I put every thing back together there was an inch gap at the top when I turn every thing on the windows went up and shut to my surprise but it still won't go down so I'm thinking that the motor is ok ?.
I'm guessing it could be the switch or a wire but I don't no what colour wire dose what any ideas chaps ?

Only real way of knowing if the motor is bunched is by testing it. I'd imagine they're a bit similar to a wiper motor in the sense that they've got pick-up/contacts inside it which make it spin one way to make the window go 'up' & the reverse for 'down'.
