for some reason out of the blue my multipla wont unlock with the remotei can do it manually but it is so annoying also the electric windows dont work anymore.please i hope you guys can help as i cant afford a repair bill, cheers guys and girls

thanks phil, ive looked in the manual and it seems a bit confusing it say the fuse is located at the relay/fuse holder bracket but dosent give a fuse number, can anyone help please

try for central locking F1 =15A + F10 =10A
bottom row 2nd +3rd from left.
for windows front try F1 = 15A
bottom row 3rd from left
and F8=20A which is two fuses up from F1
but common fuse to both is B19 =20A which is attached to the side of the fuse box with silly covers that are not easy to take off at the side of the road, when you've left your tools at home....try fuse B19 first as it is unlikely to blow more than one fuse at once.................................

thanks pete but im still confused,is b19 the same as fuse 19 in the manual,as far as i can work out fuse 19 is at the bottom of the fuse box area with a cover over it but it seems to be 25amps,i cant see a fuse in this area which is 20amps,am i looking in the wrong place, this is doing my head in ive checked loads of fuses and they all seem ok,please can anybody help before my head explodes

what year and model is your multi.in the hand book the front windows are fuse 18 which is a 30 amp under the glove box.and on page 171, 7th down, cent locking,20 amp but no fuse number.

is it elx or sx in case there is a difference.also when I said 2nd and 3rd fuse bottom row.that would be looking at it with the fuse box and the fuses nearest the bottom, touching the edge. if you see what I mean

its a jtd pete sorry i ouldnt reply sooner ive got probs with my pc as well, hopefully i can get to the botom of this problem tonite, thanks for being patient with me

sit in middle seat and look into fuse box.bottom left out the side fuse box is a red relay.under the relay is a blue fuse.to the right of the blue fuse is a yellow fuse holder that should have a 20 amp fuse.it may have the wrong fuse in it but it is the only yellow base next to the actual fuse board.I removed this fuse,it stopped the elec windows and cent locking from working ,but the alarm still set on the remote.hope this helps....................

when you say under the relay do you mean directly under it,i think ive seen a red relay it appears to be at the top left as i look into the fuse box area from the drivers seat do you mean this.sorry pete im gonna do your head in with this

Looking at the fuse box.you have connectors at the top.rows of fuses along the bottom.next to these fuses, outside the box are four add on rows .on left row is red relay and blue fuse.next row,3 fuses[the bottom one is yellow20 amp that you are looking for].next row,2 fuses.last row,3 fuses. Is yours like this?.........

hi pete,i think mine is different to yours, going by memory there is the main fuse area and below is about 6 fuses with little black cage like covers on them, ithink the very bottom one(near enough out of view)is a 20 amp,ill check this but im still unsure that this is the one because there is no red relay near it,the only red relay is at the top left above the main fuse area which i pulled out today thinkinking there might be some fuses underneath it as you can guess i was wrong and nearlly couldnt plug the bugger back in,im sure ill get there in the end even if i have to take it to a garage that i loath to do as it proberbly is just a fuse that they will charge me god knows what to replace, cheers mate

£60 for diagnosis or cheap at auto electricians is not alot of money, how much did you pay for the car!

hi pete,im fairly sure its a 115,sorry it takes a while for me to reply to your posts i dont get to get on my pc as much as ild like.cheers

Hi all,

first post here, excellent forum btw lots of useful info!

Did you get this fault sorted? Have exactly the same problem on my 02 115JTD ELX. Front E/windows, alarm and central locking up the spout!

I've had a look in the fuse box, but fuses bear little relation to what it says in the handbook!

I'll have a look at some of multipete's tips this weekend, but as I'm selling the car soon I need to get it sorted as it'll put off potential purchasers! As will the flashing glow plug light... it's been flashing for over a year now and never had a problem starting, but I guess I'll have to replace one or more glow plugs!

Thanks in advance,

Bob
