Hi all,

My wife came home tonight and mentioned a funny noise and some string hanging from under the multipla, she pulled it off and the noise stopped. I've had a look in the engine bay and the belt has about 1cm stripped off it and the flat surface has the string showing through. We had the belt and pump done 22867miles ago by a fiat dealer, so not cheap! I'm gonna ring them tomorrow and discuss it being fixed. What's the mileage for a change?

Cheers

Could be, it was dark and cold so I stomped inside! It's on drivers side uncovered, groove not teeth.

that's the Aux belt;)

do get it changed though.. because IF it falls apart.. it can get caught up with the cam-belt and trash the engine.

the belt should be less than £20 and @ 10 mins to fit;)

is it a JTD (diesel)?

Looks bloody tight, I'm guessing that after I take drivers wheel off and plastic covers it becomes easier to do?

You need a long 15mm spanner to hold back the auxiliary belt tensioner while removing/replacing the belt.

Belt was £15.30 from euro car parts using xmas as discount code, didn't lock it, used torque wrench and held it in place as I put belt on.
