Winter tyre weekend

Mine went on on Thursday. I joked about it cancelling out the snow that was forecast but woke up to a light dusting this morning. Not enough to have fun in though (n)

2 new ones put on last night as 2 were vclose to 4mm

That's good then. I had to rplace one of my winter tyres, because I snagged it on a kerb and the steel wires were showing. The fully fitted price was good... 1 x Vredestein Snowtrac 3 (Winter Tyre) 175/65 R14 T (82), Winter Tyre £ 48.19...pretty damn good, I thought.

Fitted 4x new tyres :(
Got them from Camskill
Uniroyals MSplus 77's :D

Last winter due to tracking been out - i had 1 at legal limit and the other at 4mm

I had a tyre weight/stone/object ruin a tyre at 7mm :(

So i've got a nearly new tyre (uniroyal ms plus 6) and 1 well worn but fine to sell / fob off :)

Did it last week myself
Did a quick check of the front pads due to handbrake light coming on when cornering
And readjusted the handbrake properly ready for good stopping :)

BRING ON THE SNOW!!!

well i think that weekend was our winter, seriously thinking of putting summers back on as my cars dash said it was 12 degrees at 6am this morning :nutter::confused:

Good thing I never took mine off.

MAAGIC

We saw a photo of strawberries growing in this weather. Like, wut?!

Well it was fun while it lasted...although still haven't got my tyre socks out of the bag since a test fitting last August.

Some photos of winter tyre weather...although Tbf my car has summers on and it failed to kill me...

Oh and the temp gauge today, hardly think all these photos are within 6 days of each other

A consistent 8'C every morning when I get in the car at 7am here in Norfolk.

I don't have winter tyres (snow tyres) this year but I do still have winters on my punto if there is a big down pour of snow.

The golf wheels are 18inch and 225 wide so basically skis if the weather gets bad

Just get some socks for it, mate used them on a Monaro and couldn't believe the things he could travel on despite monster rear tyres and RWD.

Definitely a consideration!

I found with winter tyres last year the grip wasn't all that much better than standard so a set of socks for when it's really bad isn't a bad idea at all. I can also easily get the train to work if needs be so that's also another cheaper option that £600 for a set of winter tyres I'll use for 2 months
