Anyone had any experience with this?

Looking at buying a property for £60-£80k at auction. I have a fairly chunky deposit and the cash to tart the place up (it needs a lot of that) before moving in.

Already have a mortgage in principle. I take it I'll need to get a mortgage in principle from a provider who is happy for me to buy at auction however? Any recommendations on companies for this?

Planning on getting survey done before hand, any other ideas, pointers or tips?

windows/doors MAY need to be changed (security) BEFORE the mortgage is actually paid out..

Interesting point, although if is insured / insurable (checked that and it is) then not sure why the mortgage company will have an issue with this? Its all double glazed apart from the back door, which I'd be having changed anyway.

I've been told by a family friend as long as it had a usable kitchen / bathroom (even if it is in a state) then getting a mortgage shouldn't be an issue, but I'm obviously wanting to confirm this myself.
