run away

if you don't find anyone local i know of a place near me who are proper reconers, not just bodge it to last a few months reconers then have a list of excuses as to why you broke it voiding any warranty, they don't have a big fancy website because they don't need it they have been going for as long as i can remember surviving on reputation alone

this means they are not cheap though

That would be good if you can pass on their details for me. Are we still saying forged internals are a NoNo? Also been thinking if the Cams are screwed then may as well have them replaced.
I'm still geting a lot of people saying why don't I put the 20v T engine in it. I still don't have a reason why not. It's a stronger engine with better tunability.

i think the best idea you have been given is buying a spare car. drive that till winter is over, then hire a hoist and a few of us come to yours for a weekend and swap engines.

then you have a long time to recon the old engine so can strip it yourself and get bits machined saving loads of labour

Its not a bad idea at all and i get quite excited about learning things especially considering everybody is pretty close to James' farm.
Its just a shame as i have the money waiting but struggling to find anywhere reliable enough to do it properly.

Also if i do buy a stop gap car that has the potential to be a false economy if it go's tits up.
