they use Unique TriShield™ technology that was supposed to capture and get rid off soot n sludge, but it don't work it captures it all right but don't disperse it unless you run constantly for a lot of miles, short trips that is most of uk driving is no good for it to work

Yes indeed this is true. They are trying to get rid of this stuff now. Some of their speil is impossible to happen inside an engine. You really need to do your homework on oil. Have a read up on the truths & myths on engine oil. Bit of a read but cuts through all the bull****.

Castrols TriShield technology is only use in GTX and GTX high mileage. The rest of castrols range doesn't have the TriShield technology.

Personally I like Magnatec although I'm using Castrol Edge at the moment.

I've used Castrol for years and never had any problems.

Thanks for that shadey, was going to post similar myself lately but wanted to check out both tubs myself when I was in asda :p

As he says it's the gtx stuff that's meant to clear sludge and stuff, I know not to bother posting any other offers up though to get slated lol

Don't see anyone getting slated on here:confused: Castrol magnetic claim molecules stick to the side of the cylinders, this is just not true, marketing speil.
Anyone, & I say anyone who wants to put a decent oil in their engine should read up on the subject, as I said earlier "myths & truths about engine oil" is a good place to start.

Castrol claim Magnatec has "Intelligent Molecules", they have never claimed it sticks to the "cylinders".

I first used Magnatec in my old Range Rover. When starting from cold the engine was noisy untill the oil was pumped everywhere, then it would go quiet. Magnatec made in instant difference to how the engine sounded when starting from cold, much quieter right from the turn of the key. I've used it in every vehicle I've had since untill recently(giving Castrol Edge a try). As dave said earlier most problems are the result of the owners not changing the oil and filters regualry, Magnatec is a very good oil IMO.

erm yes they have in so many words

Castrol Magnatec protects your engine from the moment you turn the key thanks to the way its Intelligent Molecules cling and bond to critical engine surfaces.
