Bit of a recurring problem this...

Every night thugs (20/30 at a time) congregate at the bottom of our driveway and cause trouble - throw stuff at cars - throw stuff up the drive - walk up our drive and threaten us - walk up our drive and bang on the windows - rattle the shop shutters next door etc etc etc, the list goes on.

We called the police one night and asked them to come and move them along. Now what would be the most sensible method of moving them? Drive up as normal and have a polite word? Noooo, lights and sirens at 50MPH up the road obviously!

Is it legal to put cameras on the house to monitor our driveway and house?

And is it legal to put cameras on that are watching the pavement outside our house?

And what the hell else can we do?
This happens every single night.

Cameras affixed to your property are perfectly legal.. Private CCTV at the end of the day and you don't need to put up a notice about it either

I got CCTV after someone tried breaking into my Astra. The camera is hidden so not obvious.

I mean can I set it up to record the pavement/road with it being public?

Just take them out one at a time with an air rifle out the window lol
or get a massive dog trained to attack people like them :devil:

Yes. Mines recording where my parking spot is. On the pubic highway. Doesn't record any of our property.

Aslong as the camera is fixed to your property it's your camera.

Oh right. I'll look into a camera system then.:devil: It'll have to be pretty good though as the house is higher up and back from the road.

When I'm not on my mobile and on the desktop I'll link you a photo from ours. It's motion sensitive and emails you when there's movement. It records to the cloud or on hard drive. Meaning you can access a live feed from a IP

Excellent. It has IR bulbs around the lenses.

I'll link a day and night shot I needed it for its night capabilities as well

And I only bought this one because of the IP feed.

no issues with CCTV as long as its not remote adjustable and zoomable


need to have signage only if you have a problem if you have it up and it happens to catch a problem.... RESULT

Probably not as interesting as a lion or an air gun, but you could speak to your local authority and also the police about getting a dispersal order to get them shifted. I hate that kind of thing and I have evry sympathy for you. Also get your evidence via your cctv and keep a diary of events.

Nope. it's password protected as it links to the online settings and storage. So it can be disabled and deleted. Not that I don't trust you, just rather not

You can set up a guest account. Which I might do to show you

The Police round here are a joke to be honest, worth a try though.

That's the best way IMO. Stack the evidence up and as he says file for a dispersal order. If they defy that it's a criminal offence and they can be arrested & removed
