Hi,

My sump is leaking oil ever so slightly so i think its got some pin holes in it.

I have seen the forum guide listed here;

https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto-guides/331088-grande-punto-1-2-8v-sump-replacement.html

but i have question...

Will the sump that Shop4Parts list definately be the correct one?

There are a few sellers on ebay saying you need to check the bolt hole sizes on the old sump to be sure?

Are there different versions of the sump?

This is for a 1.2 8v Active/non-evo.

Thanks!

Ordered an ebay one - sump and sealant for 28 quid delivered so will see how that gets on!

That seems a very cheap price to me for the sump. I would give the new sump a few coats of metal paint. Firstly I'd use etch primer followed by your choice of metal paint such as por 15 & for added lasting ability if you intend to keep the car, apply some bed liner, this stuff is very tough.

I will - i'll add a few extra layers of paint and some stone chip as per the guide.

I was concerned by the cheapness but judging by the pictures on ebay its the same one other sellers are advertising for £40+ so fingers crossed its ok.

As long as it stops the leaks over my loc-bloc for while i'll be happy :)

Just watch the Flexi on the exhaust, if it is original it'll probably not that sturdy any more so probably best to drop from all hangers if you need to move it rather than try to split at cat and push to one side. Ideal time to change lower gearbox mount too.
