Hi all.
Got a completely bog standard 1.2 Dynamic and i've just noticed that when its a cold morning, with the windows down, you can hear she lets out a little eep of induction noise under acceleration.
Is there anyway to increase induction noise without the use of stupid, power sapping cone filters?
Many thanks :D

A panel filter wont make much difference to the noise as the factory airbox and induction piping is designed to reduce noise as much as possible.

I have a BMC panel filter in my T-jet and the difference over a paper filter is practically unnoticable.

Something like a GSR will make more noise without sucking hot air from the engine bay but i would question if its worth £200 or so just for more noise on a 1.2 as its not going to add much to the performance.

Induction roar is such a nice noise isn't it
The best noise i've ever heard was with the k&n 57i, that completely sucks power away from you though so stay away, noise was fantastic though.

The gsr is the best option imho as it will actually add a couple extra bhp (technically speaking) doesnt sap power, and sounds good too

You could be an idiot though and drill some holes in your airbox, that would actually work :p

Hey guys, sorry to dig up this old thread, but i found that if you take the air feed tube that clips into the airbox off, you get a nice throaty roar on full throttle (1.2 8v) So if you wanted moar noize for free, thats how :p

Not sure if this has any adverse effects on MPG or engine performance but i'd assume it doesn't, didn't feel any less grunty or thirsty (y)

was looking at K&N filter for my 1.9 Mjet, think it'll give it a ROAR over the whistle of my turbo? :slayer:

I fitted a cone filter on a friend 1.5 clio turbo diesel, made a very nice 'pshhhhh' when you took your foot off the accelerator ;)

Cone filter is the way to go for best induction related noises but on na engines need to position them away from hot air with a source of cold air clearing out the air around them otherwise they will heatsoak to bits and bog all over

Pacora you spelt 'more' wrong :)

rayrayli88 I have pipercross panel filter in mine and it definably makes the turbo spool more 'noticable' Cone filters on 1.9's sound like a bag of nails imo.

Oooooo.... I will defo have a look.
Where do you live? I'm going to steal your car

Got a link of what panel you have? Guessing it's a 5 sec install as well - WIN!
