I have a knocking noise when I turn
My steering wheel can anyone help ?

What sort of knock? Is it more like a coiled sprong making a twanging noise? My money is on the strut top mounts. Can you only hear it when its stationary and slowly moving?

It's the top mount then

Yeah sounds like the top mounts. Better to replace both!
To definitely make sure, look at or put your hand on the front springs and have someone turn the wheel, if the noise goes with the movement of the spring then its top mounts!

Definitely do this, should feel the spring popping or bouncing slightly, best way I can describe it. Basically you shouldnt feel anything, if you do the top mounts have gone. As said replace both sides together, if one has gone the other wont be far behind.

How much do you reckon a garage would charge to replace them?

I got the mounts from Europarts for £22 each and local honest indi garage charged me about an hour (or maybe 2 hours) labour to fit
Strong recommendation to grease them up well to try and resist water getting back in them
