Hi Guys,

I have been having intermittent starting issues and recently got a hill holder warning that seems to point to the battery being on its way out and thus want a replacement before winter.

Is there anything I need to be aware of when replacing a battery, I have not had to do it before.

Cheers

I replaced mine with a Bosch S5 not had any issues since but shop around you should get one for £70 delivered to your door. Worth the extra pennies than putting a cheap one on.

dont leave the keys in the ignition when you change it.

make sure you know the radio code incase it locks out.

make sure you clean the terminals and tighten fully as its a **** up if the battery isnt properly earthed lol

also the hill hold thing is down to the clutch switch wearing out not the battery :)

The hill holder was the traction control and hill holder turning off whilst I was driving along. Heard it was down to lack of power as it was wet, I had all my lights on, A/C on, radio on full blast etc. Pulled over and turned radio off, A/C off etc. and its been fine since.

Thanks for the tips. I was going to splash out on a decent Bosch battery, need to shop about though, I refuse to pay the £120 that Halfrauds want.

This seems to be the same spec as the Bosch http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Varta-Fiat-Gr...arParts_SM&hash=item563b7b644d#ht_3106wt_1139
