Hi all, i need some advice please. I've got a G.P 1.9 56 plate-out of warranty. Car has done 19K.
I changed the suspension top mout bearings last month because they had siezed, and the ride of the car was really bad-old ones full of water+rusted. I removed springs+struts popped them in and it drove like new, nice ride+no shaky steering-but now the ride and comfort is back to square one as before. The car is wobbling when driven, no comfort at all and it's driving me nuts. If you push down on one side the strut returns a bit, but but eventually goes rock hard-the other side is rock hard with no movement at all. :bang:
Went to Fiat twice and asked about potential problems with struts when it was under warranty months ago-they denied that there is an issue with them, and that ALL G.P's drive like that, but now i'm out of warranty they would happily fit a new pair of struts for £336  I just find it strange that when i had the struts out and replaced them the ride goes back to normal with a return on both sides, but after a few hours or day or so they go rock hard again. Should i buy some new struts and replace them??
To cap it all i recieved a phonecall from Lookers of Northwich earlier to say that Mangoletsi had transferred all their servicing etc to them, and that Mangoletsi were only doing Alfa's now...good of them to tell their customers what they are doing. (n)

Have to say we've not changed front or rear shocks yet on a GP. Top mounts, yes, but that wouldn't noticeably affect strut compression/rebound.
