Hey, me again...

Just wondered if anyone knows if Blue and me on a 1.9 Sporting will still work if I put a new head unit in?

Also does anyone know if there's room for a 2 deck head unit, (Don't know myself yet as i've not taken the facia plate off yet.

Any advice is appreciated. :worship:

1. No

2. Dont think so, a standard DIN fits with about 10mm spare top and bottom, not enough for another size DIN unit.

wow thanks for the quick reply.

Damn coz I really like the functionality of blue and me on the steering wheel, but can't get over how good this would look (if it would fit) http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product.asp?product=21763

for that price you could easily get a kenwood/pioneer dvd flip out head unit. 2nd hand of course (y)

but for that money it will be mint :)

and then you have the option of extra screens in the car aswell. (headrests. bootbuild) etc.

i have an alpine headunit at the moment with i pod compatibility, which is the main reason for buying the headunit and the better quality sound, i have installed a set of components up the front as well which sound crisp, i have recently bought an amp and sub as well which sounds very good in the gp, the bass fills up the car but yet doesn't drown out the sound from the components.

just read it, service applies to prodcuts purchased in halfords only

no iso lead was needed when my headunit was fitted so i am guessing you do not need one as my headunit works perfectly. what headunit you thinking of getting?

if you're lucky enough to find one with the right connectors then yes, but i think that is very unlikely. dont know if any wiring firms are producing anything for the GP yet. and when they do they will be pretty expensive.

:) HTH

hay i'm gettin a new head unit fitted nxt week nd not sure weather the steerin wheel controls will still work cas the place i'm gettin it done dont know weather they can get the adoptor r not. Just wonderin when u said u didnt need 1 in urs, dose ur steerin controls still work???

"hey i'm getting a new head unit fitted next week and not sure wether the steering wheel controls will still work because the place i'm getting it done don't know wether they can get the adapter or not. Just wondering when you said you didn't need one in yours, does your steering controls still work???"

Its d age of txt msging t :p

nope when you change your headunit you cannot get the steering controls to work, there is not an adapter out yet for the GP i don't think.
