If someone makes a post that you find useful or helpful, then why not thank them?

Simply use the "Thumbs Up" button at the bottom of the post to express your gratitude

 

In an effort to kerb spam bots, a new rule has been set into play.

You can only post a URL link once you have made 5 other posts on the forum.

Shouldn't affect real users and will also stop people joining up just to spam their own sites too

 

If you want to change your username, use the new "Username Request" option found in your control panel.... no need to keep emailing staff all the time now

vBulletin has been upgraded to the latest version.

It had quite a lot of changes and I might have missed a few, so please let me know if you find any bugs

 

The upgrade of VBSEO wasn't such a good idea

It brought the FF down for around 4 hours (just after I went out ... always ... typical!)

Downgraded back to the lower version and await a response from the VBSEO team before upgrading again!

 

Updated VBSEO (the software that does all the URLs) to version 3.0.1.

Also running a beta of the unencrypted source, which can cause perfomance gains - we'll soon find out

Over the next few weeks, vBulletin will be upgraded, as well as Photopost (which will bring in a load of new features)

 

Ok - I'm all finished now and quite happy with everything.

The background has been changed from drab grey, so a darker blue. Not only does this look better, but it helps draw the focus into the middle of the page - thus being easier on the eye

I always liked the idea of the big speech marks around quotes, so have implemented the same on here - I reckon it looks pretty cool

Seeing as you lot have been hassling me so much about FIATs new logo colour - have a nice red bad in the header to replace the old blue one

And no - I won't change the logo again!

 

The spacing has been removed between table cells, which means the borders have effectively gone.

This has caused issues with some parts of the site, which I will have to sort out - but most has now been sorted

 

Can you see it?

A *tiny* *tiny* change - there's now a small thin black line around the white parts of the logo ... why ... so now it can be printed on white paper of course

 

Google have mailed and asked me to move the links bar

It's now between the first and second post, but it's tiny, so don't worry about it.

Unregistered users now get a leaderboard unit at the bottom of the page.

 

A new little bar at the bottom of each page which has some google search suggestions for further reading material.

Nice and small and unobtrusive, but there if you want it

Added a Doblo guide section - so anyone who's going to be working on their dobby, please take photos and get us a nice guide written

 

Made the events listing a bit easier to understand, made the event title a big bigger and put the date up the top. Removed the user name for posting (un-needed) and added icons for each of the "detail" fields.

 

Small update, but a new field "Gallery" has been added to all events threads.

So if the event has a gallery link, it will be linked directly from the main event information page

 

Tiny change to the website icon (the little picture that appears in the address bar). It's now got the double "F" in it ... kinda symbolises FiatForum better than just "F"

 

A new cool addon has just been installed which scans posts for Youtube and Googlevideo links and converts them to embedded video player links
