I have an 11-plate Fiat Ducato-based Autotrail motorhome. The button-battery in the key fob ran down, and now the remote fob will not operate the central locking, although this key successfully locks/unlocks the doors and starts the engine. Does anyone know if it's possible to re-sync the fob to the vehicle?

I don't have the code card (bought the vehicle second-hand), and my Fiat dealer has quoted me £140 to re-program it, which seems somewhat expensive to correct a fault caused by a flat battery costing a couple of pounds!

Fiat Customer Services tell me there is no re-sync procedure, but I have found lots of suggestions on the Forum; unfortunately none of these actually works for my vehicle.

Is there a genius out there who can help please?

You'll need to get the code card from a dealer (£15+VAT, if they try and charge more refuse and go elsewhere as some seem to make it up as they go along, this is all I've ever paid), and with this it can be coded by someone with the correct equipment.

You can even do it yourself with www.multiecuscan.net software and the required lead, and will work out a lot cheaper doing it this way than through a main dealer at the prices they've quoted.

Where abouts are you located? There may be a member near to you who has the MES software who can help.

Thanks for this; I've downloaded the software, but where do I get the cable from?

I'm located in Cambridge.

Thanks for your help.
