Just changed the engine oil/filter on my 2009 2.2 ltr 100 bhp multijet Ducato and now the oil can symbol has been flashing, for several seconds, after engine start-up.

Can anyone advise why the light is flashing? The Fiat manual suggests the light will flash when the oil needs changing!

You need to seset service interval multiecuscan or alfaobd should do it,

Many thanks for the reply. Presume a Fiat agent is the only one able to carry out a reset, however, not sure why there needs to be a reset. Can't oil changes be determined by mileage or time elapsed.

Could you tell us how please?
With a weblink to the equipment needed?

The info posted appears to be for a 2.3 multijet, which has a DPF, mine doesn't! Multiecuscan don't support 'oil light reset' for the 2.2 multijet. I have a 'spanner' symbol which indicates 'service intervals', so I'm still unclear why my oil light flashes.

The 2.2 adjustment screen is exactly the same, you may need elm327 and the full version though for some procedures. Have you tried it or are you speculating, they share the same marelli computers for cluster and body.

 Read the manual
"Exhausted oil
The warning light with turn on flashing together with the message on the display (where provided) when the system detects that the engine oil is exhausted. After the first indication, at each engine starting the warning light vwill go on flashing for about 60 seconds and then every 2 hours until oil is changed."

It sill keep flashing until you tell it the oil is changed.
