Tuning Just had our camper 'remapped'

Seems a good job mate, peace of mind with a pro remap, calibrated to yours and your vans needs, as long as engine and the bits bolted on are in good health then all should be good :)

Glad all has gone well for you I know my motorhome is running a lot better after having it remapped by Quantum
John ?

I just dug out an original file for that ecu, the drivers wish map limits the IQ to 74.28mm3 so unless hes changed that there was no point in increasing the torque limiter to 82 or whatever. But if you're happy with the extra power I'd leave it alone.

Well he seemed a bit wriggly lipped when he mentioned the turbo, like he could'nt do much to alter it
I'm still not in a position to talk about the changes as I have only driven 15k's since it was done, fitting a new DAB radio in it tomorrow if I get the time, too much paid work for the moment.
But I will be back, thank you so much for your help

As a new member, thought my experience with re-mapping might be of use.
My 2007, Ducatto 100 was remapped some months ago, by a mobile technician. The van had covered only 25,000 miles in campervan form. I was offered three options, a) for economy b) for economy and performance, and c)outright performance. I chose (b), and immediately felt increase in performance, and economy according to the computer, BUT the clutch slipped on the first steep hill encountered. I then had the ECU tweeked back to option (a), and although the clutch seemed normal most of the time, it slipped at 50mph in fifth gear, with the vehicle fully loaded.
So......I had it put back to the makers settings, and all is now well. I was only charged an "admin fee" of £40 or so.
The moral of the story.....check first with someone who has had their IDENTICAL vehicle modified, OR fit a stronger clutch!!
Finally, if the clutch hadn't shown it's displeasure, one wonders what else might have gone instead!!

I had a tuning module fitted to my 2.3 130 Euro5 by a well known and respected company. It appeared to increase torque and i thought i was happy. After a couple of hundred miles and a hundred miles into a journey I drew up behind standing traffic and the engine juddered to a halt and would not restart. Not a pleasant experience on a trunk dual carriageway. The module had an on/off switch and I switched it off and the engine restarted immediately and I was able to go on my way. I removed the module and have done several thousand mile since with no problems.
One interesting thing was prior to the breakdown I had difficulty changing gear from 6th to 5th and vice versa. It was as if there was no clutch operation and force had to be used. The gear change is normally smooth and hot knife through butter and this returned when the module was switched off.
This is just my experience with a single module. The company who fitted the module were excellent, very surprised, very sorry and gave an immediate refund.
