DUCATO 10D SWB Diesel.

Just going to look at one of these vans in the next few days.

Every type of van has particular faults associated with them, can anyone give me a few tips on this models pitfalls please, i.e.

• Do they suffer from overheating?
• Do certain parts need replacing more than normal
• What do I need to pay particular attention to?

Things like that.

Year? Engine?

Year is W reg 2000 and engine is 1.9 (1905cc) approx, Manual gear box 2 door and rear, SWB

Do they suffer from overheating?

Yes.
New radiator usually, the fins rot out of the old ones.
Cam belt needs changing every 60k or so, or every 4 to 6 years.
Top strut bearings stiffen up, so the steering goes stiff and doesn't self centre.

Apart from that. I've had no problems with mine over about 10 years.

Thanks for the info Mikey72 will be sure to check, I think it's got a full SH so I can check for timing belt replacement and other changes, mileage is 90,000 ish so it should have been changed.
