After reading the immobilizer thread on this forum (Locked) I had a go at mine last night but feel a few words are needed to assist others.

First of all its pretty easy ! But go easy as you could easily damage the solenoid whilst trying to get at it.

As you peer down from above (2002 2.8d) the black plastic imobiliser is located at the end of the pump.

It appears to be about 2 inches long, its not ! If you try to smash it all off your damage the solenoid in the process.

Simply remove the end cover plate, dig out the silicon and pull out the circuit board, don’t worry about damaging it.

Once you have done that look for the wire you need to connect to.

The Solenoid is actually located at the point which is nearest to the radiator ! Or at least the wire is.

So go carefully and test the wire by connecting it to the positive of your battery, if something goes click then that’s it !

You might need to break some of the plastic in order to get in there with a soldering iron.

It’s a pig to get to with anything so I intend to insulate the joint in Sikaflex. You’ll understand when you get that far.

Yes it’s the middle wire !
