My cambelt went on me at 75mph at night on the motorway, after it broke and not knowing it was the cambelt until i stopped on the hardshoulder i tried lifting the clutch a few times to see if i regained any power, obviously no chance of that but it would have made the oil continue to be pump to the head with the gears making the crankshaft still turn..
Cause of cambelt failure: Cambelt Idler bolts worked loose and dropped off, common i hear..
I replaced the head due to 6 valves bent one or two damaged/broken valve guides, the new head had been pressure tested and skimmed, and shimmed up, good quality head gasket, newbolts and gates belt. etc.
Since changing the head i cranked it over once to bring the fuel upto the injector pipes and then next crank on the key started no problem.. its starts dead easy and idles smoothly, however it starts to drips wet black oil from the tailpipe and smoke also.. if i raise the revs up the oil dripping onto the floor starts to get into a puddle.. i have no hickups if i rev it but it might sound a bit flat.. other than that its smooth as hell tickover..
With the amount of oil coming through the exhaust could part of the valve stems have been blown out and damaged the turbo to cause this much oil or can anyone think what else i could check for, gonna check back pressure today..
One thing that i am not sure if its related but the same night i was on my way home in an emergency and about half hour before the belt went i heard something go bouncing down the lenght of the van underneath and am not sure if something broke off or if i drove over something.. all bolts and bits from the camshaft idler were found on dismantling..
Any help appreciated..Thanks

!!!UPDATE!!!
Got a bowl under it this morning and its black water, ie water plus exhaust coke.. still dont know where its coming from.. started a just a quick flick of the key this morning... smooth tickover.. had a lot of rain lately though..
