Technical Key Fault

Hi guys and girls of the Doblo world... im just popping over from the stilo section as i had a paniced FB message from an old work collegue about his 57 plate.

it read:-

Doblo 57 plate i put the spare, hardly used key in it, to try it and although it turned the ign on it didn't start. then when i tried the regular key it still don't start... (have i )possibly f-ed up the coding and do you have any idea how to resume the key ?

... so yeah. anyone know whats going on, i have free version of MES if it will help.

in addition to the above...

With the original key the car /padlock comes on for a few seconds then goes out but it won't crank the vehicle battery's ok and the keyfobs working the central locking ok I've tried disconnecting the battery for various lengths of time but still to no avail I tried my code reader but there's no faults in anything

if its anything like the stilos then id expect to see the car/padlock tell tale on the dash but this one has me stumped

got to the bottom of it by going back to basics, turnred out the earth strap was corroded through. a quick jump lead from battery neg to gbox casing confirmed, all ok again now!
