Hello! First post and sadly it's not a happy one. Not a major problem but still annoying. I recently bought a silver 2012 Doblo Cargo SX just a couple of weeks ago. Really lovely van with only 24k on the clock. Bought from a dealer so I have the warranty to fall back on but I wanted to know if this was a simple fix or if anyone knows what the problem is so I can point the dealer in the right direction.

On my first trip out, cruising along the motorway and I got a warning beep and the message that something was wrong with the Start Stop system. I searched on here and found the tip of turning the ignition off and on quickly ten times. This worked and the warning light was gone and the Start Stop worked fine.

Driving on Saturday morning and it happened again. This time I also noticed that the water temp gauge was very erratic. It was cold that day and I had been increasing the cabin heater. I didn't tie the two together. I also felt the heater was struggling to get totally warm. Tried the ignition trick again and the warning went away.

Last night driving along the motorway and it happened again. At the exact moment it happened my wife was cranking up the heater and again the temp guage suddenly fell to zero and wouldn't budge after. The heater temp seemed ok.

It could be completely unrelated but it does seem connected in some way as it's a strange coincidence. My initial worry was the head gasket but there's plenty of coolant and no mayo on the dipstick or oil filler cap. I'm struggling to think how the Start Stop system would be connected to or influenced by the coolant system and/ or heater.

Any ideas?

Sounds like coolant temperature sensor giving false readings or the thermostat not regulating the temperature, which who knows might upset the stop start system often they choose not to stop the engine if its too cold.
The ignition trick is not addressing the problem just kidding the system that the error is out of date.
I had an audi with a failed thermostat and although mostly it stayed cold it did occasionally go hot and cold.

I'll try and switch off the warning light again then see if I can deliberately activate it again using the heater.
