Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and a proud owner of a 2010 T-Jet 120hp bravo.

I love the car and enjoy it immensely but I am recently encountering a weird behavior on startup.
The girl is starting up instantly with no issues (knock on wood), but on most starts after a few hours, it starts up and kind of rattles and shakes for a few seconds . RPM is steady and not shifting at all and after a few seconds all is well - but it drives me crazy not knowing what can this be. I haven't found info anywhere about this and was hoping you might be able to help out. There was one YouTube video that seemed to show the exact same behavior but cannot upload a URL for some reason. It can be found by typing in "fiat bravo wierd coughing cold start".

Can anyone help figuring what this can be? I have recently serviced it, changed spark plugs, oil and filters but the issue remains. I am from Israel which is a hot country so it doesn't seem to be a cold weather start - but this does happen when the car is cold as I said before.

I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on the matter :)

i have the same problem.
i notice that this happens only in the summer, meaning when hot outside.

No lights of any sort on the dash, all seems well. I was recommended to clean the throttle body, anyone noticed improved behavior after doing so? Is it enough to clean it while still on the car or is it recommended to disassemble it all together for a better clean?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
I cleaned the throttle body but the behavior remains and I am clueless...

If its the video I just watched:

Then it sounds like the engine isn't getting enough fuel. What are the fuel pressure readings like? Might be worth a look.

This is how my Bravo is starting for a few years now:

Nobody could solve it yet.

Best i've found is get rid of the old petrol, put new petrol in the tank usually 15-20 liters , no more, depending on where i drive.
P.S. i also have PLG installed.

Matthen - Yep this is the video and the exact behavior I have. As I said before it only does that for about 15 seconds or so but it still should not do that. I also noticed that about two months ago when it started the RPM was solid even in the cough but now it moves a bit as such:
upon startup it goes to ~1300 RPM (due to the choke)
then after a few seconds when the coughing starts it goes down about 150 RPM and after about 15 seconds of that goes back to 1300 RPM before going down to 800 or so as expected.

I don't want to cause any issues and want to get this resolved ASAP but my mechanic wants to keep the car over even after seeing the clip, I am trying to avoid that as I use the car daily so any suggestions would be nice.

P.S I do not have LPG on mine and also thankfully I do not experience the rapid RPM drop as in the clip.

Thanks for all of you who are helping out!
