64 plate fiat 500 lounge. Warning triangle light and start stop light come on whilst randomly driving along, happens at anytime in all weather temperatures. The car then starts juddering. Local fiat dealers have had it in and had a look at it but can't find any problems. Any ideas anybody

Hi and welcome, first thought was battery, but given your description the SS stops working if any issue occurs with the engine, so your juddering would trip off the SS hence the warning, the juddering is what needs addressing in that the engine is not running correctly, its strange Fiat cannot see any stored fault codes, how long does it judder and does it clear itself with/without re-starting the engine?

Kind of need more information! Is this a 1.2 or a 0.9 twinair?
If the warning light has come on then there will be a fault code recorded
Think coil pack(s), spark plugs, ignition leads etc

Hello and welcome .

The S/S light will come on if just about anything malfunctions; as others have said, the most likely scenario is that whatever is causing the juddering is also putting on the warning light.

If it's still in warranty, take it back to the dealer and politely but firmly insist that whatever is causing the issue is found and repaired.

My instinct is that it's an intermittent electrical connection somewhere, I'd also check the earth connection to the chassis and the hatch wiring, as both are a common cause of intermittent electrical connections.
